It started when Thompson grabbed Herro’s jersey and threw the Heat’s leading scorer to the ground.
Boy, that escalated quickly… I mean, that really got out of hand fast.
Six players were ejected in the final minute of Miami’s win in Houston when a genuine fight — more than the usual NBA pushing and posturing — broke out. It started with 35.7 seconds left in the game, the Heat up 99-94, and trying to inbound the ball in the backcourt. Amen Thompson came over to guard Tyler Herro, soon they were face to face and Thompson started everything by throwing Herro to the ground.

Once the referees watched the video and sorted things out, four players were ejected — Herro, Thompson, Terry Rozier and Jalen Green — as well as Rockets head coach Ime Udoka and assistant coach Ben Sullivan.
Just a few days ago, the NBA suspended Naji Marshall for four games, Jusuf Nurkic for three games, and PJ Washington for one for a fight that broke out between the Suns and Mavericks. Expect similar suspension numbers here.
Herro finished the game with 27 points and nine assists to spark the 104-100 Miami win.
Tyler Herro: “I guess that’s what happens when someone is scoring, throwing dimes, doing the whole thing. I’d get mad, too.”
