Kev, I’ll ask you right off the bat, where do you grade this and why?
I think for Toronto there’s two things to keep in mind here.
There were some rumors prior to the draft tonight that the Raptors were a team, at least listening to offers from the Grizzlies and Spurs trying to move up, but for now.
Analyze this as if Toronto is keeping Colin Murray Boyles and installing him into that system.
He’s 6’7 with a 7’1 wingspan, sophomore in South Carolina.
South Carolina wasn’t very good, but with Murray Boyles on the floor, they were 12.1 points per 100 possessions better with him out there defensively because of what he is.

He’s a versatile guy.
I think he reminds me more than any prospects.
It’s very mongering.
I, I know it’s sacrilegious to have a pull.
I mean, like, look, he’s got the same dimension 6’7, 7’1 wingspan, and he can facilitate on offense as well.
The big question with Murray Boyles is gonna be the jumper.
He missed 30 of his 39 jumpers he took in two years in college, so low volume and low.
under 70% from the free throw line he talked at the NBA draft combine about that’s what he needs to prove more than anything else.
Can I become a competent shooter in the NBA?
I believe in Murray Boyles.
I think he has a chance to be one of the steals in this draft, and I can see why the Raptors took a big, big swing here on him.

Does Colin fit with Brandon Ingram?
Does Brandon Ingram fit with Brandon Ingram?
He’s never available.
He’s always hurt.
Like, no, I, I’m just, I promise I wouldn’t say it to be funny.
Like I would just, it’s funny because it’s true, and I’m an Ingram guy, but yes, I love the I I I I’m always careful about us pointing like the next guy.
Not not saying you said anything wrong.
Brandon Ingram was the next Kevin Durant, right?
Emani Bates was.
The next Kevin Durant in certain ways.
Like it, it, remember, like these things happen a lot and I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing because I do think that defensively he has the aptitude.

I think athletically he’s there.
I wanna see where his body goes from here, like, you know what I mean?
I wanna see if it chisels out a little bit more or if he’s just gonna be a big boy like a Julius Randle type of ballplayer.
I, I, I actually like that.
I think that.
He is a mix.
I love the, the, the Draymond Green comparison because defensively I think Murray Boys brings something defensively that a lot of teams want.
Offensively I think he’s just like Julius, a smaller Julius he moves like him the way that he’s a bulldozer.
He plays straight through your chest.
It’s a straight line drive.
He has a little bit of wiggle, not a great handle, but he gets to his spots, can bump you off, can.

Finish over, good athlete, not a great athlete, but I love the toughness aspect.
I mean, I love his ability, you know, when you put this man on the floor, he’s gonna rebound, he’s gonna defend, he’s gonna get you buckets.
He’s just gonna make plays.
He can distribute like you said earlier at KLC, but I like Colin Murray Boyle.
It’s a toughness for me.
I I can rock with any tough dude.
I’ll go to war with a dude like Colin Murray Boyles.
