The Knicks have re-signed Matt Ryan to a two-way contract and waived Boo Bui.
The Knicks are planning on re-signing Matt Ryan to a two-way contract once he clears waivers, SNY’s NBA Insider Ian Begley confirms.
In a corresponding roster move, New York is expected to waive Boo Buie.
Ryan has seen limited action off the bench since joining the team on a non-guaranteed contract earlier this year, and he was waived this week to make room for Landry Shamet, who was re-signed after working his way back from a shoulder injury.
The 27-year-old sharpshooter was simply unable to get his shot going as he mainly played in garbage time, shooting just 29 percent from the field and 21 percent from three-point land during his nine appearances.
New York can stash him in the G League since he will be on a two-way contract.
Buie hasn’t appeared in the NBA this season but he’s averaging 11.2 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.9 rebounds with Westchester.
